EGC Insurance ----Ouch!!! Recommendations

State Farm has been getting pretty aggressive with motorbikes you may want to get a quote from them

I had Progressive for my Sportster.
Covered for 5 years.
When I got the Ultra, They wanted $400 more than a Sportster for a premium.
Ouch!!!!

I checked with State Farm and they would give me coverage for the same price as my Sportster. A $400 savings over Progressive.

Double checked back with Progressive and it still stayed high.
One premium check every year and no claims or tickets.
They wouldn't drop the price.

I now have both the Sportster and Ultra insured with State Farm.
A little under $250 for each bike.
I'm in Iowa.

I went with State farm. I had progressive when i got the road king it went up about $40 month. called state farm it went down less then what i was paying for my dyna at progressive. My agent told me that Progressive will take on high risk motorists so thats why their rates tend to be higher. It is definitly something worth shopping around for.

Here in Ct. if we ride for seven months we are doing well but to drop our insurance they will notify the MVD and will pull out registration than you have to go throught the hassle of re-registering. Not worth it.

Try State Farm. I have had them for many years for all my other insurance needs. When my Progressive double after the first year and was told it was do to inflation I added bike to my State Farm ins. Might want to check with your agent for if all your insurance needs are with the same company you will find your bike insurance more affordable. Progressive seems to rate by displacement and not by what type of bike. Also check with loan company and find out their requirements to cover loan.

i had progressive and fosters. h-d sent me to both. went to my auto insurer and found out what wasn't covered. A LOT! picked up w/ state farm-refinanced the bike at 3 pts. lower. spent $300 less for the 01 rk and now i'm at $500+ for the 10 ultra. great coverage and they stand behind you.

Try these guys out, They were cheaper than GEICO and Progressive for me. Been using them since 1989.

I cant stress enough that you need to take the time and shop your policy coverage around ,I found it will benefit you in the long run , for example this year I found it was most economical to use 2 insurance companys for the 4 bikes i register each year, there is no answer why some companys will charge $486 a yr and another will charge 66.00 a yr for same bike matching policy coverage , I have found this to be the case every year when shopping for insurance. here is a example 09 buell 1125cr progressive wanted 1,400 answer well its a sportbike , Gieco wanted 946.00 answer brand new bike replacement cost high, Dairyland 388.00 . but dairyland wanted 546.00 for my 07 SG , geico wanted 336.00 , but Gieco wanted 486.00 for my Indian and Dairyland wanted 66.00 for the Indian. these were for same excact policy coverages , So dont settle on what excuse you here why your bike is so costly cover ,Do your self a favor and take the time and shop your policy around.

Here in socialist Manitoba with mandatory government insurance my premium is over $1900 but with my driving record I get a $450 discount to around $1500 a year. If I pull the plates for winter I have to get the bike inspected before I can re-insure for summer again to prove it's not stolen. Big government is great isn't it?

I didnt see what your insurance costs so not sure what to tell you. I use StateFarm because we have them for our cars and house (I think they only write bikes with other insurances). They are pretty reasonable (about $310 a year for the Ultra) all things considered. Their rates vary based on driver record/loss experience also so yours may be higher or lower depending on that and where you live (I am rather rural but WV has a high uninsured motorist and deer caused loss rate so it is actually higher here than Maryland).

I'm in Florida, switch from Progressive to Geico.Saved $300 .Full coverage on 10 RG & 04 Dyna Lowrider, antique coverage on my 78 Lowrider.Antique coverage is riding my shovel less than 5k a year.Rather ride the RG anyway.$478.43 a year for all 3.Rider course, multi bike, years owned,ABS & security systems discounts really add up.
