I have yet not had any experience of the big twins but I regularly rides to the continent in 600 miles daily trips with return a couple of days later on my sporty with stock seat and I have always enjoyed it.
I just have a quick coffee when I refuel and I get to my destination a dozen or so hours later as fresh as when I have made the same journey on 4 wheels but having had a lot more fun.
NB No dodgy bikers bars on the way!
