Did You Know:? AND I do think I'm correct here...
The Newer 96" TC motor has the same diameter pistons as the stock 88" TC motor...
BUT:
The piston pin has been moved UP so the longer Rod length (4.375) can be used...(stroker) That is what makes it from 88" to 96"
The 95"TC (upgraded from 88") piston is the same diameter as the 103" TC piston, BUT the piston pin Again is moved up to Allow the increase in stroke for the 3/8 longer rod on the newer TC motors...
Pre 07 TC's (and pre 06 dyna's) have a 4" stroke ...
The Newer TC 07 (06 dyna's) and UP have a 4.375 stroke...
So Harley made a stroker motor and cheated in my book by changing the piston Pins and skirts to accept the longer rod length..
Truly would have been better Making LESS Heat Issues IF HD would of left the wrist pins alone, keeping the needed length on the skirts and top of piston for the stroker motor... lengthening the cylinder length to 3/8 longer...
The Newer TC motors needed Cylinder lengths to be increased by 3/8 of an inch (.375) to make a GOOD stroker motor... Using the standard pistons..
Just My opinions here..
