Help removing stock mufflers

Lean down and look into the muffler and then pull .. i guarantee it will come off and hit ya in the face then .. :)

I had a good laugh over this post. They call me Dangerdan because I'm a danger to myself and I could see the same happening to myself.
 
All the advice here is good.Bud is probably the most right on. If you do that the pipe will come off in a hurry. Seriously though The strap wrench and alittle oil should do it.
 
Wait until the exhaust is very cool. Use a propane torch or heat gun just behind the connection. The slip on will expand and slide off fairly easily with a slight side to side or circular motion. I would not advise using penatrating oil and there is no need for it.
 
Make sure that the muffler is COLD. Heat it up at the slipon and wiggle it. It should slide right off when the metal starts to expand.
