I lost my drive belt on my way back from FL in Jan 2009. It broke on I-95 just after crossing in NC from SC - about 350 mi from home. It was a Saturday evening, so I decided to rent a U-Haul truck and drive back home. The hard part was loading onto the truck - which the 2 tow truck helpers helped in a huge way. They basically pushed me and the Ultra up the ramp and I rolled into the truck.
I had just under 60K on the belt.
If I had the emergency belt kit, I still would have towed my bike home because I was on my way home anyway and it (price of U-Haul and cost of new belt) would have been cheaper than the dealership since I can replace it myself.
