took my inner fairing off to have it painted and after putting it back on yesterday, i noticed this piece left on the work bench, i thought i had clear the bench off before starting to remove the fairing. just like to know if i had forgotten something, i sure dont remember taking it off the bike. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have had my inner fairing off and re-assembled and I don't remember seeing a part like that.
 
It looks almost like an implement cable clamp.
Is there a threaded hole in the section that is sitting on the table?

:D This may sound silly, way back when I had a customer complain of a rattle noise in his door, It was a Cadillac any way we popped the panel off and found a string with a Pepsi bottle clanking inside the door SOOOO stranger things have happened Welcome to The Twilight Zone:s
 
Must be space junk...:D

Doesn't look like anything under my fairing either so you're probably being tormented, or early April fool prank.
