I would still keep an eye on it if I were you. I've moved my bike around in the garage with out the fob on me and set off the security lights. (I don't have the alarm) and never had a problem with the battery discharging. maybe I didn't let it sit long enough. If I was working on the bike I would either put the fob on the bike or set the alarm to storage mode so the moving of the bike doesn't set off the security system.
