Another cam chain tensioner question

IF you Do or Don't want to do it your self....

It took me 4.5 hrs + 2 more for getting ready to do the job.

IT TOOK about 4 hrs more to get the SMILE off my Mug after the Long ride I took to check out the bike...

This IS a good time to do a LITTLE upgrade on the Cams .....

My JOB wasn't to replace from the old style but to Install SE255 cams in my 09 FLHR.. Same difference in amount of time needed to do the job..

It ISN"T that difficult to do IF you have a few speciality tools and DO LOOK AT TQ1 GREAT pictorial and information on the subject..

Time Isn't important when doing it your self BUT when you pay for it it IS..

8 hrs is way over and I would check with a different Mech shop to see what they offer.(.)

I've heard a charge of 4 hrs. (HD Shop) with SE slender taper adjustables, as that would be a fair price.

I have seen them changing cams at Sturgis. Performance shop comes in with a tractor trailer full of parts and equipment and sets up shop. You go in and come out later that day with a big bore or cam swap or a six speed. Get your bike dynoed, what ever you want they do in a day.
