A 2.99$ part can cost what?

    It like a bad joke a 2.99 part cost 300 plus to repair! That's too funny.

    I had to replace a seal inside the primary case today to stop an oil leak. Learned a lot! But why did harley put a seal in the case that cost so little, and is a pain to replace?

    How about $550.00 + tax for a inner primary bearing when the bearing and associated parts were $28.00......
    Gotta love those H.D.'s...................

    They make it a pain so they can charge you 95.00 and hour to fix it.:eek:

    I paid $56 for a service manual and 2.99 for the seal. Another 10 for fluid. Just saying..........

    Another classic is the shifter shaft seal. You can see the part, but you can't touch it!!

    nuetral light not working on my ultra. hour to troubleshoot, $20 switch and another 3 hours labor to change it out. laught at service manager and said ill get used to it being out

    I was just trying to influence you to buy a service manual. Step by step instructions for anything you need done. If you have any mechanical ability at all, you can save youself a lot of money. I do everything except change my tires.

    Ahh I see.... Looking for a service manual now, found one. But it was an owners manual, listed as a service manual... I'm watching the work though. Learning from that.
