whining

    past year i hear a whining sound coming from somewhere (cant pinpoint it).all fluids are good and primary recently adjusted.02 classic.any ideas?

    Sorry south1...done laughing now.

    Some more info needed. For help here.
    What Speed? RPMs? Maybe get one of those mechanics stethascopes and try to pin point it a little better.
    With some more info....someone here will chime in with more help for ya.

    Is it definitely engine related? In other words, do you hear the same whining noise when the bike isn't moving and the engine is simply idling?

    Does it stay pretty consistent or change with RPM?

    Do you remember doing any mods or maintenance right before the whining started?

    did you do any mods to it?
    did you add a wind shield last year? you will hear more mechanicals w/shield on.

    if its a 02 classic as the op states , could it be the cam chain tensioners
