Top 10 Tech Tips

Thanks Richard, there are many areas that are overlooked by most.
As far as the spoke tuning, you should be able to rotate the wheel and play the spokes with a tool to hear them ring. The ring tone will tell you where the loose ones are by the dull thud. Then you take care of it before riding.

Good video! Thanks. Never check my spokes. Left me with the impression adjusting spokes is tricky. Any additional suggestions on doing your own spoke adjustments?

It's all about the "ring" you get when you tap them with a tool and don't over tighten anything or you will knock the rim out of plumb.

Don't forget grease fittings...most bikes are neglected in the area of steering column bearings/races. Your front end sits on two bearing races where fork assembly meets frame...they usually have grease nipples and need to be greased w/ a grease gun at least each spring. If not greased, the bearings can wear out REAL quick...and are a major pain/expense to replace.

The li'l dinky grease guns are SO much easier to work with than the usual overly large ones, especially when it comes to re-loading grease.
