Many have asked if they need a dealer download to the ECM when adding a TFI controller from Dobeck.
EFI - Electronic Fuel Injection Controllers
The answer to that is NO.
The only advantage of getting the dealer download is a higher RPM red line of 6200 and these motors should not be spun over at that speed for longevity reasons. Stock or near stock motors benefit absolutely nothing from turning those kind of RPM's and will be short lived if you make it a practice.
The TFI will have a bit more adjustability also without the dealer download as the download is said to increase the fuel tables 5% across the board but they still remain on the lean side for EPA regulations.
