I am about to do the roller cam chain upgrade, with higher volume oil pump. I have seen a more than a couple of places that the oil pump needs to be aligned after installation. How is that done, and what is it that is being aligned?
This is the way I always do it, Harley use to tell you to just spin the rear wheel while tighting the screws, but then said to use the alignment tools, I would use the tools as well as turning the engine over while tighting the screws, you can pick up the tools for around $15.00 so it's worth it.

I did my alignment exactly the way Chopper described and have had no problems to date. Again, as he said the alignment tools are relatively inexpensive. If I recall, they are the same tools used to align the lifter covers for Evo motors.
