Sportster blowing gas from carburetor inlet

My 2002 Sporty has developed a problem of balking and shutting down at idle. Gas begins to pour from the intake when this happens. If I keep the RPMs up she will run fine with no gas leaking. I pulled the air filter and cranked it for a bit and gas begain running from the upper aft vent hole just above the aft air filter attach bolt hole. Diagphram?
 
Dirt in the needle and seat of the float bowl. Drop the bowl, remove the float and the needle and let some gas flow through the inlet by opening the petcock. Blow it all out and reassemble the carb.
 
:s Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump............That did the trick. After dropping the bowl I saw how it is vented through that upper hole I spoke of. Thanks for the heads up!!!!!!
