Speedo / turn signal

While riding down the road at any speed and I turn my right turn signal on, my speedo drops to zero, then goes back up! It doesn't do it when I turn the left signal on, just the right. Is this a problem anyone else has run accross? I'm riding a 2003 XLC 1200. I'm guessing I have a short in a wire?! Any thoughts on the subject? Any help would be appriceated....thanks tret

Yep, I've had that problem.
I'd bet that your speedo has been changed, and if not then who ever wired it wired it wrong. I wired my replacement speedo wrong and it did the same thing.
Has it always done this or just started?
 
I just bought the bike. Used...with 5200 miles on it. I'm begining to think you may be right. A 2003 with 5200 actual miles on it?? Is there a wiring diagram somewhere I can download to check it out? thanks for your imput..tret
 
Yeah, look in self help, and or downloads.

There are complete repair manuals in there that you can download. I'm sure your year is in there.
