We live in Spokane Washington, 75 miles south of Canada, 30 miles west of Idaho.
Last Saturday the smoke from local and western fires made there way into our area.
By Sunday the smell of all the smoke was much like a close by electrical smell and visibility down to under a mile.
Didn't see your shadow until Thursday and that was for about 1/2 hour.
Yesterday seemed to be a turning point in the morning with sunlight on the office floor, but again only faintly.
By afternoon a alight breeze, enough to wiggle the leaves, brought back heavy smoke bringing visibility back to maybe 8 blocks.
We hit the top of the air quality scale Monday giving us the worst air in the US. It slowly came down to hazardous midweek.
Today is the first day I can see the trees across the fields.
