Radio static

I posted this question on the communication and radio postings but got no replies. I have just purchased an '08 Ultra Screaming Eagle with 11,000 miles. The problem is when I switch to key to access the radio reception is very good but when I switch the key to ignition I just get a lot of static without the bike running. Everything else working fine. Please advise. Thanks

If the bike is running is there static? you may have a loose/bad connection on the Ign. switch.
