Hello Gang
Quick question, I had my 09 UGC inspected yesterday and Dealer stated that I should start thinking about replacing Rear tire D407 (180/65b 81H) coming
up on 9,800 miles HD Dealer wants $245.00 + $114.00 to install. Dicount Motorcycle Tire quoted me $189.00 + 437.00 For a Dunlop Elite 3 180/70/16 Will this work OK for my needs?:33:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I think you'll find quite a few people on here that will tell you either tire is a good replacement. I think the 407 has been replaced with the 408 though. I plan on changing to an E3 next time I need tires. I hear lots of good things about them.

Well if the dealer has stated that you should start thinking about it, then you can kind of start looking around as you have been doing. Kind of confused on the "Dicount Motorcycle Tire quoted me $189.00 + 437.00 For a Dunlop Elite 3 180/70/16" though, sounds a lot higher than the dealer, no?

Being as it is such a new bike, I would get pricing from several dealers in the area, as the HD dealer is close, the 2nd sounds pretty high, especially if Internet sales show the tire to be in the $180 or so price range, and knowing HD hourly rate of say $100. Opps, just saw that you posted corrected price...sounds like the 2nd is just fine if they do good work.

Yes Check around for sure i have a dealers in my area and the price different s was astronomical....one was 245.00 the other was 387.00 for the same exact tire....guess which dealer i went to...lol..both prices were installed of course.
