Passenger backrest FLSTC Heritage classic

Is it possible move passenger backrest back further on a 2011 Heritage Classic? Only need about 2-3 inches of room.

My concern would be pulling out and passenger leaning back what would take the load and keep the backrest in place. As you know it is already mounted solidly to bike to be secure. You could try to find and install a thinner pad though.

Pretty sure you can buy an adjustable one.

If you got real creative you could make offset inserts and have them sent out to be chromed, tho it would be an expensive job IMO
