Oil from Air Cleaner

I have read all the thread's on this site concerning this matter. It is generally said that if you overfill the oil it will leak out the filter, however this leak just started after 18,000 miles (stage 1, SE air cleaner), and I am about a quart low in oil so the overfill theory does not apply to me. Any suggestions? Thanks

That happened to my husbands bike when we first started dating in 2005, I ended up with oil all over my pant leg, I just tied a red rag around my leg and we went on down to the coast.

The problem he had (2000 Road King) was behind the cam plate, it was an oil pressure release spring. Relates to cam adjusters if I recall correctly.

That is my two cents worth...
