Hello all, I just drug my dad's old bike from out of the barn. He past a year ago and I wanted to fix up his old bike in his honor.
The problem is I don't know exactly what it is...
The title says 1969 Harley, and I think the engine is newer than that. The serial number on the engine is 4A79297H4.
I am new to Harley's so I would appreciate any info you could send my way. I hope to have it up and running by December.

Welcome from So. Texas. By your VIN# it shows to be a 1974 XLCH Sportster, 1000 c.c.'s.
Looking at the battery size it is electric start. These were called Iron Heads, or some called them Baby Shovels.
