Glad that you identified the problem and are correcting it before you trashed the engine.

I agree, it shouldn't happen, but there are many tales of woe about the same issue.

ok now it gets interesting. herko has stopped putting together the kit. not good.
andrews has a kit, nice kit no cams no pushrods, no lifters. everything is extra of corse.
anyone out there know of a conversion kit that has all components.

IF you go with the harley "KIT", 429$ then buy the needed Other stuff, You'll be good to go.. Just a little more work but worth it..

When I did my conversion, I was lucky enough to get a Herco kit for one stop shopping.

I found a Andrews Kit on ebay that was fairly priced and was complete except for lifters and pushrods.

There is a used Herco kit listed for sale on one of the Harley forums.
