Need a tip on connecting exhaust sections

After finding a full length crack in the header pipe off the rear cylinder of my '07 Ultra at the crossover pipe, I took the exhaust pipes off and had them welded to repair at my mechanics assurance that it would be stronger than the original.

Now I find putting the pipes back in a challenge. The pipes are not going back together very easily and I am sure someone has a tip for sliding these pipes together for the installation.

Any experts that would like to give me a clue?

A bit of anti sieze will help

I always assemble and exhaust with all the fasteners loose and some copper grease on all the joints
I then tighten all the fasteners starting with the front manifold rear manifold then any other connections and mount bolts front to rear
