May I make a suggestion?

I keep reading posts from folks having charging issues, or getting stranded because of a dead battery. After the first time this happened to me I realized that a voltage indicator of some sort was a necessity. There are many different kinds on the market, and any one will give you a "heads up" on problems with your charging system. I opted for the Kuryakyn LED Battery Gauge because of it's simplicity.

I wouldn't ride 50 miles from home without a voltage indicator ever again.

Küryakyn makes good stuff and certainly a welcome addition...BTW HD just came out with fuel guage for EFI Sportsters that fits in similar location on the M/C cover. Don't know the details, but it may also be a worth while addition...

I had one on my last 2 bikes. Glad my SG has one built in the fairing. Last bike went thru 4 stators, 3 batteries, 2 R&Rs, & 1 coil pick up. Then I traded it in.
