Loud Click when starting.

Does anyone have a very loud click from the starter when you start your Bike???? I have a 2011 Heritage Classic and It does this loud click when starting. Sounds like the timing is to high, on the old cars back you know when. It doesn't sound good.......Just need other opinions..Please.

The newer bikes after 07 have what sounds like a hammer striking the engine case when you hit the starter button. It's a poor design in the compensator that is in the primary case. The only thing you can do about it is to replace it with the Screamin eagle compensator but even that has it's problems with lubrication.

Their standard reply is "they all do that". It gets them off the hook fast.

Doesn't mean it's right, just that they all do it.

If like Mine, when it BAMS, it is running.

I'll notice people JUMP when I'm starting the bike,,,, I just smile , go about my business and drive off..

I love the sound it makes,,,, "HOT" as Paris Hilton would say...
