Just found an old oil filter and o-ring

It's from 2012,the o ring is still rubbery,filters in the box,any reason I shouldn't use it on my next oil change? Dumb question,I just don't know if they have a certain shelf life.

Should be fine as long as it was kept sealed and didn't sit in the sun.

Your good to go, just rub a thin coat of oil on the filter gasket and spin it on.

I bought a lot of 12 from Ebay and put them on the shelf. Needless to say I use them without fail.
