interchangeable models

Was doing some surfing on ebay today and noticed alot of deals on jugs and cylinders for 1200 evo's and after doing some part cross referncing notices parts of 1200\s are same numbers as evo's and tc's. Am I looking things up right here or do the top ends from 1200 sporty's evos and tc's all fit each other from the jugs upto the rockers?

Basically no, different engines completely, you probably could make things fit ala Roger Goldammer and the late great Indian Larry famous for fitting 2 differnt configurations on most of his bikes ie shovel and knuckle heads in the same cases, but sporties and BT I have not seen done due to the push rid alingments being so different

Its very strange because since posting this question in a few places I can't seem to find the part numbers that crossed from bike to bike. The winter must be making loose my marbles, I could have sworn the jugs and cylinders would work, (EDITED).:small3d023:
