Hugger wont stay running

My dads 2001 hugger has been sitting for about 5 years(I know not good) He got a 03 Softail and kinda forgot about the hugger. Then he got sick... Ok long story TMI for most. I want to get it back on the road. I got it started today. Think I flooded it out. It will run on full choke for 15 to 20 seconds then stall. I live about a mile from him and would at least like to get it to my house with out pushing it! Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!

If you haven't removed the old gas do that now and clean the tank. Check that the fuel lines have not collapsed and the fuel filter is clear. after you have this done install new plugs and see if it will run. Check back here if this doesn't get it going.

Thanks. I know he put stable in it but I will put in fresh anyway.
