How much air in rear tire

I have a 98 Sportster 1200 Custom and was wondering what kind of air pressure I should run in the rear tire. Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Do not be mis lead by the side wall of the tire. Not all tires are to be inflated to the max pressure on the side wall. Take a look at your owners manual if you have stock tires for the proper inflation. If you have other than factory equipped tires check with the manufacturer:s

Just resurected my old owners manual for my 07. XL models... front tire solo = 30psi, same for 2 up. Back tire solo = 36psi, 2 up = 40psi. Hope this helps.

For my area and type of riding i find that the solid mount sportsters with stock dunlop tyres work well with 38 psi both front and back and most of my riding is solo
