Hi, my name is Chris. I have a '79 XLS Roadster, this one is a rough riding Neanderthal but fun for around the area.
I am going to be 62 this summer and am in search of a bike with a smoother ride (smoother than the sportster I own) for longer trips and am looking to buy a mid to late '90's Heritage Softail. I choose this cause I hear the Evolution engine is reliable and easy to work on plus I like the lower seat height of the Heritage and the idea of sitting "in" it as opposed to on a bike. I have read some of the discussions here on various topics and look forward to learning from you all when I start maintaining a big twin evo. ....Although I just saw a nice '07 FLSTC with low miles go for cheap in the area and it got me thinking hmmm, more power, one more gear, but also more expensive to maintain.
I think I need to stick to the original plan, easier on the wallet.

Welcome to the forum from Scotland
Evo engine softail would be my choice but then I do ride an evo engine softail
