I have a 1999 Electra-Glide standard, ex-police bike.
Bought it back in 2002 and hav'nt had any problems with the bike ...just regular maint.
Recently, my fork lock ignition switch has been acting up. If i put the switch in the unlock position the lights do not come on (dash or headlight) and wont let start. If I move the switch a little to the left ....not in the notch......the lights come on and I can start the bike.
Question; Do I need a new switch? or can some contact cleaner do the trick? And if I do need a new switch...Whats involved and how do I replace it. I do not have a shop manual. I have done all work on the bike ...(brakes,all fluid changes, plugs, accessories, tire changes etc. my self.
Cant afford to pay a pro to turn the wrench and no money to get a shop manual this close to Christmas.
Any help would be great ......Thank You.
