final drive ratio

I changed the gearing ratio in the primary by putting a bigger sprocket on the clutch hub. It was a 46 tooth stock and I went to a 53 tooth lowering the gearing by around 15%. Now I can ride in 6th gear at 60 mph and it's running 2450 rpm. My speedo wasn't affected because the ratio is changed in front of the tranny but I did loose my 6th gear light.

I agree with not changing a thing. On my 2007 when riding up and down in hills I leave it in 5th unless doing 70MPH. I've rode 60 miles + on some trips all in 5th gear due to the terrain. Use the gears!

still thinking about it, like the idea of changing sprocket on clutch, in primary, that would keep my speedometer in tact. just think things could can be better than stock!
