engine rattle

2011 flstc 800 miles it developed a knocking sound which is rpm relative.It sounds as if there is a ball bearing bouncing around somewhere near lower front left side of engine,this adds up to a cement mixer sound as i am riding the bike, any ideas/ the noise is not lifters the top end sounds o.k. O.k. it sounds exactly like a diesel auto engine at idle

I would be going back to the dealer and getting the compensator checked.

2011 with 800 miles, yep take it in to dealer. Like Kemo said, check compensator. Please let us know what they find. I for 1 am very curious.

My engine also had a knocking noise that nearly drove me crazy. I finally found the clutch hub bearing to be the cause. I ride an 03 Fatboy
