Derby Cover Inserts

When you make a mistake and have to replace the threaded portion of the primary cover with inserts, this is what you end up with.

Always use the proper size torx to remove the bolts, the #25 will fit the factory bolts but the #27 is the proper size and will not damage the heads...

What I usually do with the torx bits is put them against the side of a grinding wheel so the end is flush cut rather than slightly domed the way they are made so the seat deeper into the bolt head. Never had a problem of stripping a head out.

used the 27 and broke the torx tried another and it was a little tapered so started to slip finally found a good torx short spline and straight no taper was still very tight put back together with never seize and torked to middle of the books specks:bigsmiley23:
