clutch cable

I have always just collapsed the adjuster, disconnected the cable from the lever and used a cable lube product with a straw. Spray down in around the cable. I have cut the end of the straw so it is real pointy. Cant remember the product at the moment but its a spray cable lube. Its always worked for me.
 
ALSO, While it is off at the handle-bars, it is loose enough like Bodeen says, to Then do the below.

UN-screw the adjuster (separating apart to see cable inside in the middle of the cable where you adjust it). Then you can work more Lube up and down from there inside the cable and housing.

When you are all done add a bit of white lithium grease at the perch for smoother operation:s

Here is an exploded view of a typical softail clutch cable, number 12 and 15 will reqire some lube also:D
