Changing to synthetic oil

My bike is at 3500 miles. It had one oil change at 1000 miles, at that time regular HD oil was used. I want to change it to synthetic now. Will this be a problem? Do I need to purge all of the old oil from the return line ? Is it ok if a little regular oil and synthetic mixes in the process of changing oil?

Any thoughts ?

They will mix with any left over dino oil without a problem. Just do a regular change and drain it well.
