'Blue' Chrome

There is a product, you can get from J&P Cycle, called "Blue-Away". I have been using it for the better part of 40 years. It works great, as long as you don't let the blue get to bad before you get after it. I used to use it on my '73 Sporty pipes, which did not have heat shields. My pipes stayed nice and silver for the whole time I owned the bike. Best is to get after it when yellowing is evident. Yellow is much easier to get off, than blue.

Enjoy,
Rich P

I haven't used hi-temp paint inside new pipes, but I did treat some new drag pipes with "Kreem". It's a thick white liquid that is supposed to bake onto the surface of the metal, creating an insulating barrier that prevents discoloration.
It was 20+ yrs. ago, I think I remember it working fairly well (it was a friends bike).
