Is there a quick and easy way to check belt tension for proper tightness? Is it better to be too tight, or too loose?

There's a tool made for checking the 10 LBS necessary to properly adjust a belt. It's available at the dealers.

The Amount of tension is listed in your manual. It is not good to have it too loose or too tight.
