"alt" light wiring

I am using an'89-'99 alternator on a custom build. I want to install an idiot light that comes on when the ign. switch it turned on and goes out when the system is charging. The light will then only come on when the alternator is not charging or the engine is static and the key is "on".
I need a wiring diagram for this.

Your looking for the voltage regulator trigger,when you turn on the ignition this wire is live ,when you stert the engine the voltage regulator closes this curcuit as it is no longer needed,the alternator has taken over.the actual use of this is to prevent the alternator from producing a voltage surge at start up.If you take a test light and test the regulator wires before and after start up you should be able to find the correct wire easily.
