99 ultra engine light at start up

i have a 99 ultra that is fuel injected,at strart up the engine light comes on and stays on for 5-10 seconds.the bike runs fine i just wondered if any one knows what causes this.
 
That's normal, mine does it also. If you turn the ing on & wait, does it go out quicker? You could try to pull codes & see if there is anything in there, but like I said, I think that is normal for the 99's.

it has always came on when you turn on the ignition but would go out,now after it goes out it will come on again about 10 seconds later and stay on for 5-10 seconds then go out again.

Steps:
Disarm alarm if so equipped.
Run/Off switch to OFF
Ignition Key: ON,OFF,ON,OFF,ON (and leave ON)

Press LEFT turn signal switch TWICE. Wait for 1 or 2 flashes..(either 1 or 2 is OK)

Press RIGHT turn signal switch ONCE => turn signal will flash 1 time

Press RIGHT turn signal switch ONCE => turn signal flashes 2 times

Press RIGHT turn Signal switch ONCE => turn signals flash 3 times

Press LEFT turn signal switch ONCE. TROUBLE CODES WILL NOW BE DISPLAYED (stream)

TO CLEAR ANY CODES,,,=> PRESS & HOLD LEFT signal switch for 5 seconds. => turn
signal will now flash twice to confirm memory is clear.

Turn ignition OFF.

53 ROM error or failure
54 EPROM error or failure
55 Ignition module failure
56 Camshaft position sensor and crankshaft
position sensor timing or signal error
