1992 electra glide stalled after washing

    i have a 1992 electraglide classic which has been running fine till i took it to the carwash, after washing with wand i was headed home then it suddenly stalled on me and wouldnt start till i waited about 5 min. then it started again and i drove it home now it seems to have a short cause the voltage gauge keeps spiking on me, can someone give some info on what might of gotten wet to cause this problem

    I would start with all the switches on the handlebars. Take them apart and dry them with a hair dryer. Check for corosion in all the connection. Next would be a trip inside the fairing to check all the connections and making sure everything is dry. The wands at most car washes have way too much pressure for washing motorcycles IMO.

    After cleaning and drying out the handle bar switches check the alternator plug and do a charging system test http://www.hdtalking.com/archive/t-47714.html Clean and tighten the battery connections and apply some dielectric grease
