1975 Sportser Voltage Regulator testing

I have a "AMF" Sporty, 1975.
Now, before you start warning me about these old things, I have had it since 1982 - I am well aware these breed a very strong "Love/Hate" relationship.

I have developed a weird voltage issue on my bike.
I have looked up ways to test the Voltage Regulator, and found several good videos and papers telling me how to test all kinds of regulators, al of which are not what I have.
I am still running the original system with only three posts on it.

Now I get extremely high readings when the bike is running. That tells me the voltage generated is not being regulated.

any help would be appreciated.

Any thing over 14,5 volts would be too high IMO for an older system

I have never figured those out either. Plus I don't think they are repairable. I think a Bosch 605 reg. is the same from Auto Zone etc. You just need to show them the old one and look for one off an early Chevy. You can also convert it to a newer electronic type from HD or aftermarket.
