Where there any other things that cause you to hesitate in buying a TriGlide?

Thanks
The first time I saw the brochure I knew it was the bike for me. I am a 62 year old female and have just put my first 500 miles on my brand new HD Tri-Glide. Wow! What a ride. Even though I have been riding on and off for 4 years I consider myself a novice because I was never comfortable on my other 2 Harleys.
The DVD offered with the purchase gives great instructions and tips on the difference in steering, cornering. I am certainly not an expert but I feel so comfortable not having to put my feet down at stops and with reverse I can take it out of the garage all by myself!

Re: TriGlide -- Comments anyone?

I bought one in December and it is fun but a little rough even with the air adjustment in the rear. The reverse works great if you are not on a hill it is only a starter on a fly wheel in the rear. This bike was built at harley. The trunk leaks like a sive when I wash it so I need to get that fixed but all in alll I love the bike.

Re: TriGlide -- Comments anyone?

I saw one yesterday at the dealer. The Triglide is still basically a
Lehman trike . Harley and Lehman jointed together to make the triglide
but Harley is now marketing them instead of Lehman

Although the Can-Am has its issues it is way different than Triglide. To me Tglide is beautiful but feels very awkward and rougher than it should. The Can Am wants to go 80mph all the time but it's 1/2 the money.

Someone could verify that the changes in the 09 bikes were made so that you can go back to your dealer and trike it in a day.If thats true buy and 09 and wait it out.

Re: TriGlide -- Comments anyone?

Hi all, I'll try to answer the questions and comments in here the best I can.

On stability, the Tri-Glide is very hard next to impossible to tip over.
At low to mid speeds it will push the front wheel if turned hard. At high speeds if a rear wheel comes off the ground all power goes to that wheel. With no power on the ground, it slows and the wheel comes back down.
Also there is a steering damper to reduce headshake.

rbrian, the reverse motor is not a starter motor. It is designed to be a reverse motor and at $1000.00 retail is more durable. There is a new trunk seal and lock for water leaking into the trunk. Did you try to adjust the door strikers to make it tighter? Maybe try that. If that still does not work go to your dealer and submit a warranty to get the new door seal. Not sure if the new lock is part of the warranty also.

mrkihn, the tri-glide is NOT a Lehman's trike. It is totally designed by Harley-Davidson. The front portion is assembled in York and shipped to Lehman where HD has built a facility to finish assembly of the tri-glide with all HD tooling and equipment. Lehman is finacially resposible for finishing the trike's rear end and fit and finish.

If anyone has any questions on the tri-glide I'll try to answer them the best I can.

Re: TriGlide -- Comments anyone?

I have a tri-glide now for about 45 days and I love it. Only one problem is getting the engine maped. The dealer can not run it on there dino and has taken it down to a local auto repair shop who has the same make dino as the dealer but has soft ware issue. Hope to have that problem solved soon. Do you have any ideas I could pass along to my dealer?

The reverse motor has kicked out the braker 2 times now and they are looking at that now.

Other than that it is great. My wife now likes to ride with me and that is the best part.

The reason I got the tri-glide is I am 62 and a disabled vet with a bad leg. Time to be safe and still enjoy riding.

I have to ask why dyno a tri glide? do they race them?
If you want a bit more power a simple TFI or even a Power commander would far exceed any fine tuning that bike could ever need or use and cost far less.
I fully understand your ride you decide and any thing you want to do to it is your right.
I just try to understand the reasoning behind mods like this and what thought process brings riders to do it. I am by some standards an old dog but I am will to learn.

I changed the exhaust and as I understand it has to mapped. They tell me you have to put it on dino to get it mapped. All I know is what they tell me. Are they wrong?
