Filling Primary/Trans Oil
Published by glider (Community Liaison)

When doing a service on the primary, the oil level should be to the bottom edge of the clutch basket with the bike upright and level. Different model bikes will have different fluid capacities but this way will give you the proper level regardless of the amount called for.

The arrow shows the reference point for this.

Servicing the transmission will require different measurements on different bikes but usually one quart will do the job. Check with the dipstick resting on the fill hole (not screwed in) and consult your owners manual for the proper way of checking it whether it is on the side stand or straight up as this varies also.
