I'm glad I am not the only one that does that and I have had my scoot for a year now!!!! IMO ---- 6th gear is the useless one unless your doing "90 to nothin'" out on the interstate !!

Re: why 5th gear?

I guess it just goes to show everyone rides differently. I use all my gears, in all situations, adapting to hills, wind, cruise on/off, etc. I don't look to stay in a certain RPM range or only use each gear at a certain speed.

Works for me so far

85 to 95 percent of my ridin is done 2 up and on county black top, two-lane, twisty-curvy, roads. The only time I see the interstate( I-44 ) is when I go toward Springfield / Branson Mo. or ( I-70) going back to Kansas. So majority of the time I don't even use 6th.
