Proper Chain tension

What would be the proper chain tension for the rear drive chain from transmission sprocket to rear tire sprocket ? Running a 530-106 O-ring chain on a 48 tooth rear sprocket if it matters.

Re: Proper Chain tension

Chains tension will vary differently over their length when used, so check the tension, move the bike a bit and check again for a couple of feet, there will be a point chain is "tighter, with less slack...which is where the chain should have 1/2" to 3/4", but of course check your manual to be sure. Sometimes the tension will also vary as the swing arm travels through it's arc, depending on the geometry with respect to front sprocket and rear sprocket, that is why this tension is tested with both wheels down...
