09 FLHTCUI vs 05 SE FLHTCI

Ok Tootsie gave me the ok to get a brand new 09 FLHTCUI Dark pearl Blue set up my way, life is great. However I found a 05 SE FLHTCI, teal w/20000 miles but everything and more (in a good way) that I would add so any thoughts? I've ridden the 09 UC and love the class of the bike but that little devil on my other shoulder keeps screaming about the cool hot rod factor of the SE any thoughts?

IMO SE is over rated and does not have that much better resale down the road.
If the cost of the 09 is not going to break the bank the then 09 is the way to go. The TC96aint your grandpas HD

I'm with Smitty901. If the price isn't a deal breaker, you'll be much happier with the /09 in the long run. Full warranty, new frame, new swing arm, new wheels, new exhaust...etc. Believe me, it's worth it just for the improved handling and ride.

Well I believe you guys are right, I plan on the 09 UC I think I saw the SE in a moment of weakness, but my gut keeps me leaning towards the 09. Just didn't want to pass up a sweet bike due to a lack of knowledge.

Do yourself a favor.....buy the new one for all the above mentioned reasons, TC 96, warranty etc.

Re: 09 FLHTCUI vs 05 SE FLHTCI

In the end you need to decide which one fits your riding style?

Also, check out forums dedicated to CVO bikes. They have a lot more info on them specifically, but in my experience, you'll come back here! The SE bikes bring their own baggage. Do your research. I was greenlighted to check out new CVO bikes and FBI Razors. I decided neither fit my riding style, and in the end the choice was really between the Ultra and Street Glide. That's me. You need to do the same. You don't have to spend much time on this forum to find the accolades being poured over the '09 Touring bikes. They really are completely different bikes than the ones sold last year!

Happy shopping!

Be warned there are a 1000's momets of weakness when it comes to owning a HD.
From the aluring bikes on the show room floor, to all the custom ones in the aftermarket. It is easyer to see those coming than the ones tha seek up on you.
They wisper in your ear how cool your and your bike will look with these pipes, and how you must have them. The chrome,it nevers ends.
As long as the budget will support it you going to be a very happy couple on that 09 HD. May as well start reading here now and save your self a lot of money so you can spend it on the extras.
