Spark Plugs Running RICH
Hey guys
I pulled the spark plugs on my 09 UC yesterday to check the mixture after 2500 miles on my TFI/ Screaming Eagle A/C and Pipes The best way I can discribe them is a Blacksutty ring around the electrode but the Electrode Tip is greyish white in color My Question is what TFI Pods #s 1,2,3, or 4 do i need to notch down to get it to run a bit leaner Thank you Ride Safe BuffaloBILL |

Re: Spark Plugs Running RICH
The outer ring of the spark plug shell is usually covered with a sooty looking carbon and it doesn't require any adjusting to get rid of it.
You can back off on the #2 pot about 1/2 to a full number without noticing any loss in power or performance. It's the accelerator function and the setting that is suggested is generally on the rich side anyhow. Set the #1 pot using the 1700 rpm engine speed to the best and smoothest running and work from there. You can even lower the #1 pot just a hair when you find the sweet spot.
