Re: Test rode 09 Street Glide

Congrats on your 09 SG, I'm loving mine. 1900 miles and counting.
I REALLY disliked the 09 seat, only thing I didn't like about the bike; it's a 30 mile seat. Recommend the Mustang Solo seat, plus the wide pillion, it feels and looks great. 07 seats mount with a tang on the seat. 09 seats, it's reversed, the tang is on the frame and the "socket" is on the seat. Frames are also some different, but several of us, led by Teleman001, have easily adapted the 08 Mustang Solo for the 09 Street Glide. Mustang has one coming out for the 09 in December.
Good luck with your new ride, you won't regret it.

Re: Test rode 09 Street Glide

Congrats on the new ride! It's a great bike to be sure!

I've heard several comments about the seat, but I am on the other side of the isle on this one. After 3 days > 250 miles in one week on my new SG, I'm very surprised at how well the seat works for me. I have had stock Ultra seats, Corbin Touring, and Mustang, so I can compare it to a few. I will definatley get a Mustang for my long rides, but so far 300 is very doable for me on the stocker. The passenger seat hasn't been tested yet, and I doubt that the same opinion would apply back there.

On my '09 SG, which is less than 2 weeks old, I can't say enough good things! It runs great, slightly more vibration but significantly better handling! The stock pipes even sound good! I am putting on Rineharts for better flow and sound, but if the stockers where not quite so quiet, I would consider keeping them. or am I just getting old?

The only concern I have right now is MPG. I will wait until I put on the pipes and see what happens.

I'm in Bergen County Myself,
I don't really have an opinion as to if the 09 rides harder than previous year glides, I think a better description may be that the ride is more firm, as related to me by a buddy of mine.
