Relocate the horn
If found a simple , easy and cheap way to get a better horn and make it look right.
On my road Glide I bought an after market louder car horn using the two thin brakets that come with it I Douabled them up removed the front fuel tank mounting bolt put the bolt throught the bracket and reinstalled with the horn. Horn in mount facing down to keep dirt and water out as instructed. It clears the forks and fuel tank and can not be seen unless you get in and look for it. Add 6 inches of wire to to reach the new horn done. 20 minutes horn is loud and out of site. cost 15 dollars. it worked so well I am going to put one on the right side also. top view ![]() side view looking under faring ![]()

Re: Relocate the horn
Tech said no problem and those car horns come in different tone you can mix and match if you like. The one I chose was louder than a normal car horn and has a nice sound.
Pick it up at Auto Zone

Re: Relocate the horn
Smitty, you rock! I picked up two of those horns today and they are going on this evening. I really like the idea of having a much louder horn and having them out of sight is an added bonus!

Re: Relocate the horn
I am going to eliminate the old one. I think it will clean up the looks of the engine and might even allow a little more air to the cylinders. I know Smitty put on a cooling fan where the stock horn is located. Again, thanks Smitty!

Re: Relocate the horn
I had removed to old one to install a fan. I did not like the one that came with the fan, so this was my fix.
Bluesssman Put the two brackets together it makes them stronger the large hole is just right for tank mount. All I did for wires to the second one is jumper them I used 12ga wire for all of it but I am sure 14ga would be plenty. once installed you can bens brackets a bit to make sure nothing touches. I covered and protected the wires and bent the connecters at the horn 90 degress so they fit better. I am sure you will figure it all out.

and the 14 would be close behind. Look at the gauge of the stock horn wires.

One thing is for sure you can hear rhe horn now .Of course some times I think all the horn is for is to call the witnesses to see what about to happen.
